"I am a custom computer builder. I delivered a computer to a customer 4 days ago and she also requested a printer. I had an Epson WF 2540 still boxed I bought to resell about 6 months ago.
When I delivered it 5 days ago, the color ink streaked. I figured maybe the box had sat too long so I went out and bought the client a new set of cartridges. That didn't fix it and neither did firmware update or reinstall drivers, changed printer cable etc.
Epson claimed the serial number was over a year old so the warranty was null, even though it was never used and remained boxed over 6 months. So maybe the wholesaler held it too long but irregardless it wasn't my fault and not the client's fault. They offered us nothing and I went thorugh 3 supervisors and finally got to Corporate America so watch out, Epson printers must drop dead at 1 year point from manufacture and they have 0 customer service. Now they are dead wrong but what is my alternative? Go to court and spend a few hundred $ over a $75 printer? They are smart so you need to beware and make sure not to buy Epson, they stink!!!!"
